Boeung
Kak land activist Tep Vanny was brought before an investigating judge at Phnom
Penh Municipal Court yesterday morning for questioning on a charge of
intentional violence with aggravating circumstances that dates to 2013.
Court spokesman Ly Sophana said Vanny was accused of having led a group of Boeung Kak land activists who clashed with police on March 13 that year as they attempted to “storm” Prime Minister Hun Sen’s residence to deliver a petition seeking his intervention in their long-running land dispute.
However, leaving the courtroom, Vanny was incredulous, questioning why it had taken three years for the prosecutor to charge her.
“If I committed violence in front of Samdech’s [Hun Sen] house in 2013, maybe I would have lost my life since then. Certainly I would have gone to jail already,” Vanny said.
She was arrested on August 15 along with several others for cursing effigies during a Black Monday protest. While her alleged accomplice, Bov Sophea, was released one week later, Vanny remains at Prey Sar prison on the 2013 charge.
“I’m not shocked that they are trying to colour me again and again. It’s just a strategy to deprive our freedom of expression in demanding justice for the Boeung Kak community,” she said.
Am Sam Ath, technical coordinator at rights group Licadho, agreed with Vanny’s analysis.
“We saw them that day; they prayed with scarecrows and they are innocent. But she is an active community representative so they dredged up an old case to interrogate her and intimidate the community,” Sam Ath said.

PM Sen is doing what? This is a copycat and sadly, without clear or useful objectives.
Compared to the 100-Night Project by Dr. Kem Ley, Hun's project smells very fishy, and is nothing but a BS scam.
Dr. Kem Ley wanted to document the life, the land, the islands that belong to Cambodia, but are being swallowed by Youn, little by little, through a variety of government sponsored programs, allowing Youns to settle all over.
He did not do this for any selfish reasons; he did it for the children of Cambodia so they will learn and know about their own country. He did it without any fanfares.
In contrast, PM Sen (PMS) Lord Supreme Dictator's project is for his own popularity; just look at the picture. PMS has only one purpose in mind, which is to draw attention away from the recent Global Witness's report which characterized the Hun's family as a filthy rich clan who would stop at nothing as long as they can stay in power and continue to rape Cambodia.
*** Youn is how the Vietnamese used to be called.

By Sokha Ou-Uun
Since 2013, the ruling party has increased its abuses of its own people by ten-fold and resorted to using its military, police, hired hands, as well as the judicial system to beat up or jail activists who dare speaking up or standing up for their rights.
In light of all the human-rights abuses committed by the dictator Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia, the European Parliamentary (EP) body has issued a stern warning to the Prime Minister Supreme Lord Hun Sen that the EP may stop or reduce the economic and financial supports to the Kingdom of Cambodia. In response, during his speech at a university graduation, the Uneducated Dictator Supreme Lord Hun Sen angrily denounced the warning. As usual, the PM speech was very colorful and vivid with his hand gestures.
Although he is talking tough, the Supreme Lord Dictator Hun Sen does know that his lively hood does depend on those financial aids.

June 10, 2016: THE GREAT RALLY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
By Sokha Ou-Uun
Washington D.C. |
Since 1993, after the Paris Agreement was implemented, the government of dictator Hun Sen has
Paris |
Prior to 1991, the government of Vietnam and the government of Hun Sen had signed many treaties ceding much of the Cambodian territories to Vietnam, including the Island of Koh Tral (or Phu Quc, name given by Vietnam). That particular island is situated less than 8 miles from Cambodia. Of course, those treaties were nullified in 1993.
Long Beach, CA |
However, in 2005, the government of Hun Sen, in order to maintain its power as a puppet government of Vietnam, resurrected all the old treaties signed between the two governments through some form of executive order or a special law. The King was believed to have been pressured to put his signature on this new scam therefore ratifying it. Since then, efforts have been made between Vietnam and Hun Sen to accelerate the border demarcation using maps ratified under the treaties signed prior to 1991, nullified in 93, and resurrected in 2005.
The Paris Agreement also guarantees Justice, Freedom, Equality to all Cambodian peoples. But since 1993, the government has not respected the basic human rights for its own people.
Washington State |
Under the terms listed in the Paris agreement, all foreign troops were to be withdrawn from Cambodia, mainly Vietnamese soldiers. When the Agreement was implemented, Vietnam did pull their troops out, but only a small portion of it. Former and late King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia estimated that hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese troops remained. They simply shed their uniforms and started wearing civilian clothing.
Washington D.C. |
In July of 1997, when there dictator Hun Sen launched a coup d'etat to overthrow his rival co-prime minister, Prince Rannaridh, residences living in the Phnom Penh, Cambodia capital, had witnessed in horror, their Vietnamese neighbors coming out wearing their Vietnamese military uniforms and joined Hun Sen troops. Those Vietnamese continue to live and work in Cambodia as of today. In addition, Vietnamese people continue to pour into the tiny Kingdom of Cambodia, and Hun Sen's government has done nothing.
Bottom line, Vietnam and its puppet government of dictator Hun Sen have acted as though the Paris Agreement did not exist. The main reason for the rallies held across the globe in June 10, 2016 is to bring awareness as well to ask all the signatories of the 1991 Paris Agreement to launch an investigation into what Vietnam and its puppet government in Cambodia have done in regard to the Agreement. The rallies also demands that the Government of Cambodia respects Human Rights and unconditionally releases all political prisoners.
Note: Similar rally was held Washington D.C.- Olympia, Washington State - Lowell Massachusetts - Long Beach, California - Canada - France - and Australia

Tiger's Habits
In an attempt to get the
government of the dictator PM Hun Sen to release human rights workers from
prison, the opposition party CNRP had collected and delivered to the King,
a petition signed by tens of thousands of ordinary peoples, asking the King to
help convincing the government to release those right workers. In
response, the King wrote and ask the PM to take care of the situation, but
without giving any specific instructions or requests.
It is possible that the King's letter to the prime minister also includes
copies of the petition and peoples' signatures. As usual, PM Hun Sen took
advantage of the ambiguity and interpreted that the King wanted to verify
all those tens of thousands of signatures to insure that CNRP did
not submit faked signatures.
Now PM Hun Sen has ordered his police and military apparatus to go to individuals and verify their thumb prints, thus revealing the identities of everyone who had signed the petition, in essence creating a black book of peoples who do not support the dictatorial government of Hun Sen. This is a pure form of intimidation, a method employed by every known dictators.

What the King did, although innocent, is amount to feeding flesh to the

WHO IS THE PAWN By S.O.U.
During the cold war era, North Vietnam
and South Vietnam were thought to be pawns to the super powers from the East
and West blocks. However, Ho Chi Minh (North Vietnamese leader) had a different
take. He was using both the East and West blocks to achieve his century-old
plan, which is to be the master of Indochina and to be strong enough to stand
up against China. During Vietnam war Uncle Ho did not care about what was being perceived, and he did everything including lying, signing
treaties with China recognizing the South China sea as Chinese territories. By
the end of the war, both Vietnams were united to become one country with lots
of military equipment left behind, enough for the new Vietnam to be able to
bully and secretly take over its neighbors, Laos and Cambodia.
Presiden Barak Obama Visiting Vietnam in May 2016 |
The notion of Vietnam being a pawn to a
foreign country was not clear then, and it is still muddy at the moment. The US
is courting Vietnam to stop China's influences in the area. At the same time, I
wonder who the real benefactor is. Will this be a repeat of what happened in the
past? Are we, the US, being used by Vietnam to fight its war against China?
Vietnam is very clever and
patriotic. It will use all means to achieve its goal. I remember as I was growing up
during Vietnam war era, North Vietnam bribed the little prince of Cambodia, the
generals of the prince's armed forces with WOMEN, BOOZES, MONEY, AND PROMISES of returning occupied territories back to Cambodia in exchange for the use of Cambodia's territories along the borders as safe haven for their troops to fight against the US. It was this arrangement that lead to the bombing of Cambodia by the US.
After the victory in 1975, Vietnamese leaders ignored the little prince, and instead of keeping the
promise of returning the land, their troops remained and in many cases expanded their occupation even further into Cambodia. The little prince wrote to remind Vietnamese leader about the promise, but the letters went unanswered, and some were returned un-open.
WARNING: Approach with CAUTION
when it comes to dealing with Vietnam.

Mech Dara and Shaun Turton - The Phnom Penh PostThu, 12 May 2016
Despite the Foreign Ministry declaring that United Nations staffer Soen Sally has diplomatic immunity, police will still arrest the human rights worker on sight because the Interior Ministry has not been told otherwise, an official said yesterday.
Phnom Penh Municipal Court president Taing Sunlay yesterday said the court had not received the missive, and declined to comment further. Sally, an official from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), is charged alongside six other individuals for allegedly conspiring to bribe the purported mistress of CNRP leader Kem Sokha in a case widely considered politically motivated.
Reached yesterday, Justice Ministry spokesman Chin Malin also said the Foreign Ministry had yet to follow up on its request – which was communicated to the UN last Thursday – with the necessary paperwork.
Sounry, of the Foreign Ministry, yesterday hung up on a reporter, and subsequent attempts to reach him were unsuccessful. Since Sally was summonsed over the case last month, his whereabouts have been closely guarded by the UN, which on Sunday said they believed the Foreign Affair’s statement would resolve the matter. Via email, OHCHR country director Wan-Hea Lee said the situation remained unchanged.
“Our staff have immunity under the Convention. Exchanges with the Royal Govt (sic) have taken place on the matter.”
